LEGO Ninjago, originally known as LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, is an American-Danish animated series based on the LEGO Ninjago toy line. This collaboration between the American studios Wil Film and LEGO Denmark saw the light in 2011. In Italy, the series was broadcast on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon (with specials and TV films) and Boing. The story takes place mainly in the fictional kingdom of Ninjago, a place that vaguely recalls East Asia in its aesthetics and culture. This metropolis includes skyscrapers, vehicles and modern or even futuristic technologies. The series revolves around a group of seven teenage ninjas with elemental powers, engaged in the fight against the forces of evil. Their training and the formation of the team are entrusted to master Sensei Wu, who teaches them the fictional martial art of ''Spinjitzu''. Their base is a flying ship, whose shape evolves over the course of the series. The original protagonists include Kai, Cole, Jay and Zane, joined by Nya, Kai's sister, while Lloyd Garmadon, who will become the focus of the plot, appears in the first season. The series integrates a detailed fictional culture, highlighted through explanations or flashbacks over the seasons. Significant elements of this culture manifest themselves through various characters, such as the Serpentine tribes, the evil Lord Garmadon (Lloyd's father), and the stone army. Following the conclusion of the original series in 2022 with the ''Crystallized'' season, the story continues in 2023 with ''LEGO Ninjago: Rise of Dragons'', a continuation that departs from the original series. This new chapter adds new elements and developments to the already compelling Ninjago plot.
